Dr. Shiva Nand
MBBS FRACGP
Dr Nand works full time with limited Saturday’s at the Highfield’s Practice and joined the group as a Director in 2016. Dr Nand has had extensive Paediatric experience at Mater Children’s, Toowoomba Base and Royal Children’s Hospital’s. Dr Nand special interests are in Mental Health, Family and General Medicine and Chronic Disease, especially in Diabetes and Aboriginal Health. Dr Nand has commenced working on Thursday evenings 5pm to 7 pm, for after work appointments to allow working parents an opportunity to see their friendly GP. Dr. Anoosh Sukhnundan

Dr Sukhnundan works four days a week at the Highfield’s Practice with limited Saturday’s and joined the group in 2006. Dr Sukhnundan has a broad interest in Family Medicine. Dr Sukhnundan is not currently taking new patients at this time. GPTQ Accredited Supervisor

Dr. Thwe

Dr Thwe works Part time at both of our Lindsay Street and Highfields and District Medical Centers with limited Saturdays. She works Monday and Tuesday at our Highfields Clinic, then works at Lindsay Street Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. She joined the Lindsay Street Medical group in 2022. Dr Thwe enjoys all areas of General Practice. Dr Thwe speaks fluent English and Burmese as well. Dr Thwe graduated from Myanmar in 2010 and worked in Jamaica for nearly 6 years before coming to Australia and working in Mackay Hospital for 2 years and the Toowoomba Base Hospital for a year. Dr Thwe is accepting New Patients! Special Interests in Chronic Disease Management, Procedures and Emergancy medicine.

Dr. Deanna Song joined Lindsay Street Medical Centre in July 2026, bringing a strong foundation in hospital medicine and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. She completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) before earning her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Sydney. Prior to joining Lindsay Street Medical Centre, Dr. Song gained valuable experience working at Blacktown Hospital, Caboolture Hospital, and Ochre Medical Ballina, where she cared for patients across a broad range of clinical settings. This diverse experience has equipped her with the skills to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Dr. Song has a special interest in women's health, paediatrics, and preventative healthcare. She is passionate about helping patients maintain their health through early intervention, health education, and evidence-based medical care. Whether it's routine health checks, childhood healthcare, women's health concerns, or managing everyday medical conditions, Dr. Song is committed to providing compassionate and personalised care for every patient. At Lindsay Street Medical Centre, Dr. Song welcomes new patients and enjoys building long-term relationships with individuals and families. She is dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community through comprehensive general practice services. Outside of work, Dr. Song enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, and cooking.

Dr Faraz Ahmad is a dedicated Medical Practitioner joining Highfields & District Medical Centre in August 2026. He brings diverse clinical experience from Pakistan, the United Kingdom and Australia, with a background across several areas of hospital medicine.
Dr Faraz completed his medical studies at Rawalpindi Medical University and the University of the Punjab in Pakistan, obtaining his BSc and MBBS. His previous clinical experience includes Cardiology and Plastic Surgery in Pakistan, Orthopaedics and Emergency Medicine in the United Kingdom, as well as experience in the Emergency Department at Caboolture Hospital in Queensland.
His areas of clinical interest include chronic disease management, diabetes management, men's health, family medicine, travel medicine, paediatrics and trauma management in primary care. He is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care and supporting patients with their ongoing health and wellbeing.
Outside of medicine, Dr Faraz enjoys creating social media content, playing cricket and long-distance travel. He speaks Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Saraiki and Haryanvi, in addition to English.

Dr Ciara Dodds is an experienced General Practitioner joining Highfields & District Medical Centre in September 2026, bringing more than 8 years of experience in General
Practice and a broad background in healthcare across Australia.
Dr Ciara completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Tasmania in 2014, followed by a Diploma of Child Health (DCH) through the University of Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General
Practitioners (FRACGP) and an Associate Member of the Australasian Society of
Breast Physicians. Dr Ciara has worked in hospitals and GP clinics across most states and
territories of Australia, giving her a diverse range of clinical experience.
Her special interests include women’s health, children’s health, preventative medicine
and chronic disease management. Dr Ciara offers Implanon insertion and removal and Mirena removal and has a particular interest in breast medicine. She currently works at the Darling Downs Diagnostic Breast Clinic, alongside her General Practice work.
Dr Ciara enjoys providing comprehensive family medicine and supporting patients through different stages of life, with a strong focus on preventative healthcare and the ongoing management of chronic health conditions.
Outside of medicine, Dr Ciara enjoys spending time with her husband, 18-month-old son
and their two Labradors, as well as travelling and camping.

Dr Gawie (pronounced “Harvey”) Roux and Hannelie Roux are a Husband-and-Wife Team that have been running skin cancer clinics together for more than 10 years. Dr Gawie conducts Skin Clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays at Highfields & District Medical Centre. Appointments are open to both new and existing patients; no referral is required.
